Abnormal Course Conditions Paint Colours
Due to the ongoing repairs to flood and irrigation project damage, various areas of the course have been marked with blue, white, or green paint. Below is a breakdown of what each colour signifies at Green Acres:
Blue Paint: Indicates a NO Play Zone as determined by the Course Committee. Relief MUST be taken under Rule 16.1b.
White Paint: Marks an area as an abnormal course condition. Relief MAY be taken under Rule 16.1b, but it is not mandatory, and you can choose to play the ball as it lies.
Green* Paint: Only used to indicate that a previously marked area is back in play in the general area. If you see an area marked with green paint (like in front of the 14th green), you must play the ball as it lies.
Please take note of these markings to ensure proper adherence to the rules during your game.
*Since erasers don't exist for paint markings on the course, mowing is the only way to remove them permanently. However, with couch grass currently dormant, green paint is used to temporarily cover any existing abnormal course conditions markings.
Frost Delays
Earlier this week the course was temporarily closed due to a thick layer of frost covering it. The Golf Course Superintendent determined that it be open for play at the updated time of 10 a.m. A 9-hole competition was available for those wanting to tee off then.
As we are well and truly in the colder months this may happen from time to time.
So, for more information on frost and why a delay in play is necessary to preserve playing surfaces susceptible to damage, please refer to the following USGA post by clicking the link below

KHRYSP Round 2 - Peninsula Kingswood - Results
A big congratulations to our KHRYSP team on surviving the difficult PK course including the sandy scrapes!
Highlights from Round 2 as observed by Lorraine and Anne as follows...
With Heather calling in ill on Sunday Julie dutifully stepped up to take on the No. 5 position and despite driving well was unable to get ahead of her opponent. Lee was determined to win and being 1up going to 18 she sealed the victory for her first win. On the 2nd hole, Lee executed a fabulous chip using the contours of the green to roll the ball back to the hole. Leeanne drove well and was 4 down early and determinedly was able to square the match at the halfway mark but was unable to hang on finishing on 16 Lynn’s positive outlook and winning early holes while her opponents were 'just warming up’ resulted in her 2&1 victory. A great chip onto the par 3 3rd guarded by bunkers for par. Jenny’s opponent was on fire playing to one over the card at halfway, she was unable to bridge the gap and gallantly finished on 15.
Final results
Jenny Smith lost 5&3
Lynn Zhang won 2&1
LeeanneWhitty lost 4&3
Lee Donelly won 1hole
Julie Cannell lost 6&5
