Update on Yarra Courses Reciprocal Rights

We would like to inform members of some important alterations the Yarra Courses reciprocal arrangements, effective from Monday, 12th August. The Yarra Courses group, which includes Green Acres, Rosanna, Heidelberg, Latrobe, Kew, and Eastern Golf Clubs, has made several adjustments to the reciprocal play policies.

The green fee for playing at these clubs will range between $55 and $80 per person, day dependent. At Green Acres, this rate will be available only on Mondays (Fridays have been removed from the reciprocal schedule). Guests who are members of a Yarra reciprocal club can enjoy this discounted rate for their first three visits on Mondays, instead of the usual $85. This arrangement is separate from the standard six-visit guest limit.

By limiting the reciprocal play to Mondays, we aim to reduce the demand for tee times on Fridays, offering more flexibility for our members to book during that day. Additionally, the physical Yarra Access Card will no longer be required, as all player tracking will now be managed through GolfLink numbers, with a cap of three visits per calendar year.

For a detailed overview of these changes, please click the link below.

New Bag & Buggy Storage

Next week work will commence in the underground carpark to create extra storage for members bags and buggies.

We are creating space for approximately 75 bag and buggy combinations (60 currently on the wait list) for members convenience. Whilst this will require the loss of 4 car spaces, it will give so many more the convenience and option of having bags and buggies stored at the club which is viewed as a better service to members.

Members will still be able to utilise the underground carpark whilst works take place.

Interclub Round 2 Wrap-Up

What an outstanding performance last Friday! After a chilly start in the hills at Rosanna Golf Club, the Green Acres team arrived as a united front to take on Box Hill. From the outset, the team’s positive energy was palpable, with everyone focused and determined.

We witnessed some remarkable golf and intense competition. At the end of the day, the teams were evenly matched, resulting in a draw with Box Hill. Both teams secured three wins and one halved match. It was an exceptionally close contest, and all our competitors made us proud.

Highlights

  • Anne Corboy sank a superb 4-5 meter putt on the 17th hole to win the hole and went on to halve her match on the 18th.
  • Meg Toose brought her A-game, demonstrating solid play throughout the day. She took the lead early by sinking crucial putts on the 1st and 2nd holes.
  • Jacqui Moorhead earned the title of "Power Putter," consistently getting close to the pin regardless of her position on the course.
  • Kerry remained steady and determined, enhancing her focus to secure a victory. This marks Kerry’s first win in Interclub—congratulations!
  • It wasn’t Julia’s day today, as her opponent played exceptionally well, but she gave it her best effort.
  • Genevieve’s shot from the fairway bunker onto the green on the 9th hole was a tremendous feat.
  • We were pleased to have Carol join the team this week; her determination and belief were evident as she played through to the 16th hole.

A special thanks to our experienced caddies who generously volunteered their time—it is greatly appreciated.
