We have over 60 staff working full time, part time or casual here at Green Acres and we know we are very fortunate to have this great group of dedicated people looking after us and we need to do what we can to treat each and every staff member as we would like to be treated and to ensure they feel safe and appreciated in their workplace.
The Board is aware that unfortunately, there have been occasions where club members have not behaved appropriately towards staff, and I remind all members to show respect and appreciation to staff at all times even if things are not going as you would expect from time to time.
I also would ask that members report any incidents they observe which they believe is unacceptable behaviour not only towards staff but fellow members as well.

Smoking and Vaping
Members are reminded that smoking and vaping is not allowed on the terrace. Smoking and vaping are only permissible on the course or in a designated car park.

Last Sunday, the Championship Final of the WH Richardson featured Josh Monk and Anne Corboy against Frank Crombie and Trish Mullen in a Canadian foursomes match.
Anne and Josh took an early lead, going 4-up by the 8th hole. Frank and Trish fought back, narrowing the gap to 2-down by the 12th. Josh missed a match-winning putt on the 15th, but secured victory on the 17th with a close approach, earning a 2&1 win.
This marks Josh’s third consecutive victory, this time with new partner Anne. The match was played in great spirit, with congratulations to Frank and Trish for their effort.
Well done to the winners, Josh Monk and Anne Corboy!
Course/ Practice Facilities Care
It is extremely disappointing to see that a member who was practicing on either Wednesday or Thursday late afternoon decided to hit full shots off the bentgrass green surround on the top chipping green, leaving several divots. The fringe of the green is for short chips only.
The driving range tee can be used after hours to hit full shots down the 10th fairway, or alternatively, the pitching tee located towards the maintenance shed can be used for longer pitch shots.
If you have any information on the individual responsible, please let the Golf Centre know.
Balding Golf Improvement Centre Conditions of Use
A reminder to members: the Balding Golf Improvement Centre (Trackman warm-up bays) are communal areas and cannot be booked.
Members must take turns using these machines and, after a period, stand aside if another member arrives to use one of the bays, regardless of whether you are just using the shot analyser or playing a virtual round.
It is also worth mentioning that these bays are considered practice facilities, so dress regulations and membership playing categories still apply.

This week's challenge was the punishing ‘bunkers’ and weren’t they nasty!
Highlights from the players:
Julie - Kept up with her opponent off the tee but was caught out by a few of the bunkers.
Wendy: Faced an opponent who consistently escaped bunkers and landed next to the pin, which was very demoralizing.
Leeanne - Went up to the 18th but unfortunately just missed out on a win. Despite having to play a provisional onto a par 3 and her opponent being on for 2, she holed a long putt to square the hole.
Louise - A veteran match player, who despite being 4 down early on, mustered her resilience and clawed her way back to be only 1 down going up the last hole. Her opponent, feeling the pressure shanked her approach shot (which was the only error she appeared to make all day) and Louise won the hole and squared the match.
Lynn - Started on fire and was well on top; however, she also found too many bunkers that cruelled her run home but was able to hold on for a draw.
Final results:
Lynn Zhang Halved
Louise Purcell Halved
Leeanne Whitty lost 1 hole
Wendy Hall lost 9&7
Julie Cannell lost 2&1
Thanks to Heather Anderson and Team Managers Lorraine Woolley and Anne O’Hehir for their support and updates.
Lesson learnt - a sideway or backward shot out of a difficult bunker is a good option. Keep up the good spirits as we continue playing sandbelt clubs on sandbelt courses.
Next round Monday 1st July 8.00 am at Royal Melbourne
