Golf Cart Geofencing
After weeks of testing to ensure the most accurate results, the geofencing of our new golf cart fleet has been completed and will be enabled from tomorrow (Saturday 27th July) onwards.
The geofencing will restrict cart users from driving their carts close to the green or wet areas on the course. These restricted areas will be displayed on the GPS screen as a perimeter of dots (see the image below). As you approach, the dots will become brighter, and a message on the screen will inform you of the direction to exit the fairway to reach the next green. If you accidentally enter a restricted area, the cart will immediately shut off and lock. You will need to reverse out of the restricted zone to unlock the cart.
For your information, wet areas have been identified as follows:- On the 3rd hole, left-hand side before and around the green
- On the right-hand side of the 4th hole and around the back tee of the 5th hole
- On the right-hand side along the tree line on the 15th hole
- 17th hole carryway
When playing these holes, you will be asked to stay on the cart path if there is one available; otherwise, disregard and just keep clear of the marked wet areas.
Additionally, to protect fellow golfers who are not using carts, a speed limit of 12 km/h will be enabled from the path exiting the 9th green to the 10th tee. Failure to comply with the speed limit will result in the cart shutting off and locking for 5 seconds.

2024 Founder's Cup
The Men's Founders Cup Qualifying Round is scheduled for Saturday 3rd August and is played in conjunction with the August medal. The top 8 registered scores will qualify for the matchplay rounds. Please only register if you are available for all the dates listed below.
Registering and then withdrawing after qualifying for the event without a valid reason, as determined by the Chair of Golf, may result in ineligibility for the 2025 event.- Saturday 3rd August 2024 - Qualifying Round
- Saturday 10th August 2024 - Quarter Final
- Saturday 17th August 2024 - Semi Final
- Saturday 24th August 2024 - Final
The Founders Cup has a rich history dating back to 1953, with D.I. Bourke the inaugural winner of the event. Over the years, numerous influential members of Green Acres have left their mark on the event, their names engraved on the prestigious A.N. Alley Founders Cup. A.N. Alley, who generously donated the Founders Cup, held multiple roles within the club's formative years.
He served as the Club's first Treasurer, presided as President from 1956 to 1958, and contributed as a Director for a decade, starting in 1949. This particular trophy stands out as one with great aesthetic appeal as well, which the victor will be presented with on Saturday 24th August.

IMG Junior World Championship
Green Acres Junior member Oscar Hu recently travelled to the US to compete in the IMG Academy Junior World Championships at the famous Torrey Pines golf course. The Junior World Golf Championships is truly unique with a total field size exceeding 1000 golfers and representing an impressive number of countries and states. Many Junior World champions have gone on to enjoy successful careers on the PGA and LPGA Tours, including Amy Alcott, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, Corey Pavin, Jason Day, Nick Price, Kim Shipman, Craig Stadler, David Toms and Tiger Woods.
As the youngest participant in the 11-12 age group, he played for three days from the yellow tees playing solid golf during the first two days, finishing with a total of 7 over par. However, he struggled to handle the hot temperatures on the final day. We hope Oscar can continue to hone his skills at Green Acres in the coming months to become an even better player.
