Club Championships After the unfortunate weather events last Saturday that led to the cancellation of Round 1, this year's shortened Club Championships will conclude this Sunday. The Super Sunday final round will bring together men, women, young, and old to compete for the championship titles. Be sure to come down and show your support with post-golf canapés, followed by the presentation of this year's winners. You can walk the course and spectate or enjoy sitting on the terrace with friends, watching the action unfold on the large outdoor live leaderboard. For those participating in the Minor Championships this Saturday, please be prepared to play in the Super Sunday event, even if you fall outside the top 12, as category overlaps (Junior & Veterans) may extend qualifying scores beyond 12th place. The grades for the Minor Championships will be calculated tomorrow afternoon once all registered players in the Club Championships have begun play. After tomorrow's round, the draw will be completed and emailed to all qualifiers. Please ensure your email is current to receive this communication, and check your inbox throughout the evening. This is a reminder to all those playing in the morning field: please ensure you properly rake your footprints in the bunkers and place the rakes back at the base of the bunker in the direction of play. This will help ensure the course is in the best possible condition for the final round of the Club Championships later in the day. We look forward to seeing you at the club to support the participants in the final round of the 2024 Club Championship.

Women’s Golf - C.E. Pinniger Cup for Seniors
This year, the C.E. Pinniger Cup for Seniors was played alongside the first two rounds of the Women’s Club Championships. To be eligible, competitors must have been 60 years or older as of the first round. The event is played over two rounds of stroke play, with the winner being the player with the lowest aggregate gross score over both rounds. The event dates back to 1966, when the inaugural winner was C.E. Pinniger, after whom the trophy is named. Over the years, several changes have been made to the event, including renaming it from the "Veterans" to "Seniors" in 2021, as well as introducing additional awards for nett scores and separate age categories. This year’s champion played exceptionally consistent golf, finishing with an aggregate gross score of 177, comprised of rounds of 88 and 89—five strokes ahead of her closest competitor, none other than Women’s Club Captain Fiona Bunting. Congratulations to the 2024 C.E. Pinniger Cup for Seniors winner, Anne Minter. 2024 Women’s Pinniger Cup final results.
Other prizes awarded:
- Congratulations to the Seniors Cup Nett winner, Anne P Smith.
- Congratulations to the Seniors Cup 70+ winner, Prudence Graf.
- Congratulations to the Seniors Cup 80+ winner, Barb Pinchbeck.

Representative Golf - Junior Pennant Launch It's exciting to see that, for the second year in a row, we've been able to field a team in the Junior Pennant. This year, we've built on last year's success by entering two teams: the Green Acres Chargers and the Green Machines.
The Junior Pennant launch was held in the Members Lounge immediately following the junior golf clinic. Parents and players received an overview of the Junior Pennant program, team squads, and uniforms. The announcement of who would represent Green Acres at Riversdale this week was also made.
Both teams will begin Round 1 at Riversdale this Sunday, October 13th. We would like to thank the team managers—Greg O'Brien for the Green Acres Chargers and Paul Reid for the Green Machines—for their support, and we wish our Junior Pennant teams all the best for the season ahead.
