Notice for nominations of office bearers and committee 2024/2025

Members are advised that in accordance with Clause 42(b) of the Clubs’ Constitution and By Law 01:01:04, nominations for Office Bearers and Committee open at the Clubs’ Office from 9.00am Monday 10 June 2024. Nominations close 5.00pm Monday 8 July 2024. The AGM is set to be held on Monday 5 August 2024 at 7.00pm.

Current Officers – President Rob Coxon and Vice-Captain Chris Bate are not required to seek nomination as their 24 month term does not expire until the 2025 Annual General Meeting.

Current Directors Phil Kamay and Phil Johnston are not required to seek nomination as their 24-month term does not expire until the 2025 Annual General Meeting.

Current Director  Kim Maybery, will not be continuing the 2^nd year of her 24 month term which creates a casual vacancy for a 12 month term.

Nominations are required for Office Bearer TWO (2) positions:

• Office Bearer positions (1) Captain will be for a 24-month term.
• Office Bearer positions (1) Treasurer will be for a 24-month term.

Nominations are required for Committee THREE (3) positions:

• Committee positions (2) will be for a 24-month term.
• Casual vacancy (1) will be for a 12-month term.

Nominee Information: Members are not permitted to act as a Director (without court consent) if they are declared bankrupt, or if they have been convicted of fraud or of an offence under Corporations’ Law, such as breach of duties as a Director or insolvent trading.

Persons nominating for the Board of Directors must be at least 18 years of age.

Nomination forms for Officer and Director Positions are available for collection up until 5.00 pm Monday 8 July 2024 from Reception during office hours Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Captain’s Putter

The Captain’s Putter final was held on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, featuring a match between Brett Ryan and the Club Captain, Rohan Duncan.

This match was anticipated to be a rematch of their pennant match from many years ago. However, this time it was a different result with Brett determined to prevent Rohan from becoming the first Club Captain to win the event.

Brett played exceptionally well, establishing a commanding 6-up lead by the turn, as the current “Captain’s Putter” uncharacteristically faltered on several early holes. Brett's form remained strong, and he clinched the match on the 13th hole with a score of 7 & 5.

Women’s 4BBB Knockout Jean Chambers Trophy

The Women’s 4BBB Knockout is reaching the pointy end of the event, with the Semi Finals to be played on Tuesday 18^th June.

The first match is between the pair of Prudence Graf and Linda Li against Marge Doidge and Lyn Henry. The second match is between Anne Smith and Allison Abbot against Brenda Carey and Jennifer French.

Men’s Foursomes Championship

The Men’s Foursomes Championship, a 36-hole event, will be played tomorrow.

Registrations have now closed, and the draw has been completed. This year, we have only four registered pairs competing: 2021 championship winners Barney Greaves and Will Bate, Josh Monk and Tom Allan, Chris Ellis and Lewis Reed, and finally Robbie Virgato and David Simpson.

With only a few shots separating the pairs, this Foursomes Championship could be anybody’s game.

• Qualifying Round: Saturday 15th June 2024
• Quarter Finals: Saturday 22nd June 2024
• Semi Finals: Saturday 29th June 2024
• Final: Saturday 13th July 2024

The regular booking sheet is now open. Only players participating in the Foursomes Handicap (HCP) event are required to book their pairs' tee times.

For the Foursomes Champion event (gross event, without handicap), registrations close on Wednesday, June 12th.
